In the last one year The Chicster Diaries has crossed some dreamy milestones, all thanks to you lovelies, and 2016 will hopefully have much much more in store with all the love and support. So I am here to give you a recap of the year that went by where I’d like to share the story of how The Chicster Diaries came into being. Also a little something about the rebranding phase and a list of my Top 10 Most Popular posts of 2015.

The Beginning: To start with, my journey as a blogger began owing to my interest in beauty posts and the aspect that inspired me the most to ardently take it up was the lack of sufficient material on the topics which I wanted to read about. So to be honest I feel I did a shoddy at blogging for the first few months but soon I began enjoying writing blogs and as my liking grew I tried to dig deeper to understand various subjects that I wouldn’t have otherwise. Some of my friends and family were of the opinion that beauty blogging was all about buying makeup and using it; and I wouldn’t lie, several of them are still quite ignorant about how blogging works in reality. They fail to understand that beauty Blogging isn’t just about buying makeup and using it; rather it is more about being a good photographer, editor, promoter, developer, search engine optimizer and definitely a vigilant consumer. Rebranding Journey: As time went by I got more serious about the work I did and that was when I decided to rebrand my blog; most importantly get a customised domain name. My blog had definitely outgrown Chic Peachy Pink as it no longer was just a makeup and beauty blog but had a hint of technology, lifestyle and fashion choices added to it. After countless brainstorming sessions with my friends The Chicster Diaries was created, A place for every makeup, beauty loving, tech savvy, fashionista who doesn’t have to choose between being chic or hipster. The major highlight of this year had definitely been the domain name change from Chic Peachy Pink to The Chicster Diaries. I had been reading about it for quite a while and was a bit skeptic as I was aware that there are chances that I may loose some readers owing to the name change. However, it has only been a few months since my blog got renamed and I have gained more than double the readers during this time. So, my suggestion to all the bloggers out there who are reading this is: Trust your readers and go ahead and get a custom domain name! How to use: Apply to dry face and massage into skin. Rinse off with warm water or remove with a wet muslin cloth for a more thorough cleanse.

Results:
The product is housed in a lightweight tin tub with a screw top lid making the packaging of the product travel friendly.
The word camomile makes me think of a good cup of camomile tea and an interesting book to go along with it. This product has a refreshingly calming camomile scent to it. For people who are sensitive to scents you need not worry as the scent of this product is too light and wasn’t even noticeable to me the first time I used it.
The product has the texture of solid butter cream. I like to take a pea size of the product and lightly rub it in between my palms to warm the solid balm before massaging it onto my face. The product starts to melt almost immediately and turns into thick cleansing oil.
I know this may not be the ideal way of using this product but I prefer massaging it on to my skin and then when it starts to get oily I remove it off with a cotton pad and then rinse my face with a mild face wash.
On application, within a couple of seconds you can see the product melts the makeup and all the impurities. It gently gets rid of every last trace of stubborn waterproof makeup leaving the skin clean and well moisturised. The product is mild and will probably suit sensitive skin too as it did not irritate my skin or even sting my eyes.
Being a cleansing butter this product is much more moisturising than any cleansing oil or cleansing water. I have a combination skin and the product works perfectly well for my skin however, I am not so sure if it would suit the beauties who have an oily skin type.

Overall Verdict: I absolutely loved this product and will prefer it any day compared any cleansing lotions or cleansing water. June is not yet over and I have already reviewed my June 2015 Fab Bag and since I mentioned it, you can see I am immensely happy about it. In the products that I received there was an evident tie between the products I liked the best. The Votre Sun protection and the Cuccio Nail enamel in Manhattan Mayhem were both truly spectacular products.

Votre Fresh Cooling Sun Protection Mist SPF 25 :The concept of a sun protection mist is pretty new to me but at the same time it sounds very interesting. I was really pleased with this product as the product reduced the application process time by nearly half as it gets absorbed instantly. It is quite light in texture and the mist form makes the product spread evenly.
Cuccio Hand, Feet and Body Cream.
Cuccio hand, feet and body cream:The packaging of the creamis the cutest of all as it came in a tiny white colored tube which is easy to carry around. It has natural ingredients like Tuscan citrus herb and butter. Only a little product is required for application. After application the product gets absorbed almost instantly and the smooth effect of the butter can be felt, which is not to be confused with greasy.
Cuccio Color in Manhattan Mayhem
Cuccio Color – Manhattan Mayhem: The nail enamel that I got was a beautiful striking red named Manhattan Mayhem by Cuccio. The nail enamel reminds me of the Maybelline Color Show in Red Carpet. The only difference between them I would say is that Manhattan Mayhem does not have silver sparkles in it. Excluding this shade there are 6 other exciting colors to choose from online on the Fab Bag site.
Ananda Light Moisturizer
Ananda Light moisturizer:This light moisturizer from Ananda comes in a tiny white jar. This light moisturizer is mainly made of sandalwood and rose as specified on the lid of the jar. It has a very strong rose scent to it. Just as the name suggests it is a very light moisturizer and would suit people only with oily or combination skin. Another great aspect about it is that it is Paraben free.
Rockstar EDT by All Good Scents Perfume Vial
Rockstar EDT by All Good Scents Perfume Vial: Last but not the least I received a vial of Rockstar Eau De Toilette from All Good Scents. This bonus product was added on account of Father’s Day. The fragrance is simply sensuous. I wish I would have received this bag earlier as I would have definitely given the full sized product of this vail to my Dad on Father’s Day. Nontheless, atleast I have the perfect gift planned for his birthday.
The Fab Post this month not only did suggest us to take charge but also provided us with tips and tricks on how to take charge of our wellness, career and relationship.
Overall Verdict: Theproducts this month may have seem lesser in quantity but they were high on quality. Besides there were 2 full sized products in the bag which together retailed more than Rs.1600/- so the bag was a total win win.

Memebox, is a beauty subscription box that has been around longer than most of us would know about. I did come to know about them a year ago and was under the impression that they do not ship to India. It is a beauty box filled with Korean beauty products. All the boxes have an unique theme with different products in them. I had taken the Luckybox edition which have mystery products selected from the past Memeboxes, priced at $23 + shipping.

Pureplus+ Lip Treatment (Full Size)
There are 3 flavours available in this treatment Strawberry, Honey, and Milk. I got the Strawberry flavor which I really did want looking at the other options available. As expected being a lip treatment it is very hydrating in nature. The formula is very sticky and thick which appears to be like a clear lipgloss. The treatment gives a nice prolonged cooling effect after application. I apply it mostly at nights as I am not comfortable to use it due to its sticky nature in the day time. Tried to use it before applying a matte lipstick but that did not work out that well. It has the goodness of water soluble collagen, snail mucin, shea butter, grape seed oil, hyaluronic acid, Vitamin E. The wear time is upto 7 hours plus and it is transferable while drinking and can’t survive a meal.
Unni Recipe Vitamin Recharger Essence (Full Size)
The most impressive part about the packaging was the pump dispenser that did arrive with a lid to cover the nozzle while not in use, making is very hygienic. One of the best essence I have used in a while. As usual I was having one of the lazy day and so rather than my usual night routine I decided to use some essence on my face before sleeping. The next morning I would say I was more than impressed with the product, it hydrated my skin, made it soft and smooth. My ideal application process is by using just two small pumps of the essence. It has a light texture that spreads evenly and easily on the skin, as well as is absorbed very quickly by the skin. Would not like to vouch for the fact if it made my skin bright as I am unsure of its effect regarding the same but definitely improved its texture. Liked this product a lot and would definitely give it a thumbs up!
RiRe Pigment (Full Size)
I love bling and this pigment was just the right one for me. This was randomly selected from Gold Clutch, Snow White, Peach Peach, A-Pink, and Club Burgundy. I received the Peach Peach shade. The pigment is super gorgeous. The lasting power is mindblowing. It did stay on my eyes the whole night without flaking. The texture is smooth, fine and powdery shimmer like and even a little of the product is more than enough to cover your entire eye. I had heard a lot of good things about it and I can confirm that they all stand true to its claim.
Tip for the day – If you do not have any pigment glue use some clear lipgloss it works equally well.
Langsre Rose Berry 70 Sleeping Mask (Full Size)
Apparently, a hydrating night pack formulated with rose water and rose petals. I was really excited when I saw this product in the box as the night pack I was applying prior was hitting the pan. I did apply this for almost a week and that is when I did have breakouts. The product did not not suit my skin at all. Earlier I was under the impression that it was due to some climatic change but when I stopped using the product the reactions subsided. I have not touched the product since then. When I had used the product for a week, I did not any significant difference in my skin. The formula was quite hydrating but was very thick and would not get absorbed into the skin easily.
Pisteo Bright & Pure C Serum (Received a 7ml sample)
I was aware that I did not have enough of Vitamin C based products and wanted to include some in my regime. So obviously I was more than happy to try it. I really wish though would have got a full size as I absolutely love this product. I have not included this a part of my daily routine as I am unsure if this would affect me the same way as the night pack by Langsre. This product takes a lot of time to get absorbed into the skin and make your face feel a bit sticky till the time it is well absorbed. I have applied this product for nearly a month and my skin appears to be more brighter and tighter. If you have any spot marks it would not get rid of it but would definitely lighten it. All in all a good product until now.
Tonymoly BCDation All Master SPF30 PA++ (Received a 20g sample)
Tonymoly has had some of the best products which were loved by the masses. Tonymoly BCDation is not an exception when it comes to this aspect. BCDation stands for BB cream, CC cream and foundation. It has a light texture so does not make you feel greasy like some of the BB and CC creams. The product blends in and after settling matches the color of the skin. It does not have yellow undertones so would not match most of the skin tones. It doesn’t settle in fine lines and gives a clear skin effect. As per its claim it has the benefits of all three. It works well as a BB cream and a CC cream but has a light coverage so would not be an apt foundation for me. Only a grain sized amount is enough to cover the entire face since too much use of it can give you an ashy look. The lasting power of this product is amazing, it can stay upto6-7 hours without applying some powered foundation on it.
Overall Verdict: Excluding the Langsre all the other products were brilliant. Loved the Tonymoly and the Unni Vitamin essence. Rest of the products were fabulous but I am really hooked on these two much more than the rest of them as I use them daily.

Productivity: In the past, the most common issue I had faced with straighteners is that the floating plates are either too wide apart because of which I had to repeat the process a couple of times to get it right or the floating plates were too near because of which I had to make smaller partitions while ironing or else my hair would get pulled on. However, with these 1” floating plate that self-adjust eliminating any pressure points I haven’t faced any such issues as of yet.

The color Surkh is a pretty burgundy shade with strong brown hues. The polish gives a opaque mettalic finish within two coats. Excluding the colour, I am somehow not so fond of this product as the applicator brush is not of a very good quality. Also I have noticed a bit of chipping immediately after two days which is kind of disappointing.

Just Herbs Liquorice Shea butter lip balm (Received: Full size)
As the name suggests this lip balm has the goodness of shea butter in it which is quite obvious from its tender texture. The shea butter literally melts on touch and the product turns into a slightly oily liquid that spreads evenly on the lips. Even this little jar can last a good amount of time as the product required is very less. I love using this as a part of my night time routine as my lips feel soft and supple next morning.

Bioderma Photoderm AKN Mat Sunscreen SPF 30 (Received: 5ml) I had been absolutely loving my Lotus Sun block Matte gel sunscreen but now that I am almost done with it I would love to try a few more matte sunscreens. As of yet I have tried this product only once yet I am certain that I will be purchasing the full size product. The feature that I loved the most about this product is that on application the product gets absorbed immediately and settles into a matte finish. Also, the product doesn’t leave any white cast behind on getting settled.

Nyassa Cane Sugar Body scrub (Received: 30gm)
I cannot praise this scrub enough for its intoxicating cocoa butter scent. The product is made up of natural ingredients like raw brown cane sugar and shea butter. The shea butter and cocoa butter moisturizes the skin making it really soft and supple while as the raw brown cane sugar acts as the granules in the scrub.

Hikari Blush in Harvest (Received: Full size)
My favourite product of them all in this month’s bag was definitely the Hikari blush in the shade Harvest. This warm toned deep rose shade compliments my skin tone well and gives a healthy flushed look. The product is very pigmented so I would recommend you to be a little cautious while application.

Overall Verdict: First and foremost absolutely loved the sturdy bold red coloured bag. Excluding this, the Hikari blush in Harvest and the Bioderma Photoderm AKN Mat Sunscreen SPF 30 were fabulous and would highly recommend you to try them.
