Mac Studio Fix Powder plus Foundation : A MUST BUY – The Chicster Diaries

HiyA Lovelies,

I am a girl that is head over heels for matte makeup in general, though it be lipsticks, foundation, primer etc. If you like matte pressed powders just like me than MAC Studio Fix Powder plus Foundation can be considered as The Go To product for you. I am genuinely so hooked on it that I have now even stopped considering other options for my evening wear makeup. I was so in love with this product that I did end up buying two shades- a winter shade and a summer shade. With the scorching heat and the humid climate I prefer to keep my winter makeup and summer makeup different. In case of pressed powders the only factors that I consider are the texture and shades. This powder can survive both the winter and summer weather making it wearable all year around.

Mac Studio Fix Powder plus Foundation review

Price: Rs 1800/- for 15g

Claims: A one-step powder and foundation that provides a smooth, flawless, all-matte, full-coverage finish. Long-wearing, velvety texture allows skin to breathe. Available in a wide range of colours. 15 g / 0.52 US oz

Results:This is the one and only product I have seen that has made an apt claim about itself. I would proudly claim it as my Holy Grail of Foundations. I love the little round matte black container, it even contains a mirror along with a sponge powder puff below the powder. The compact and handy container makes it easy to carry around.

The best feature is the soft and matte texture that merges in with the skin. It does not appear cakey and masky. It hides nearly all the darkspots and blemishes without the use of an concealer. It blends so well with the skin that it appears to give an even toned skin look.

I have combination skin type and being a matte powder the mattifying effect keeps my T-zone shine-free without having to blot it. The coverage is literally unbelievable, I don’t have to use a separate foundation with this as this provides me full coverage. The lasting power of this beauty is upto 6hours after which I do a little touch up. It is easy to apply and blend as you can see in the pictures too that it was hard to get the swatches. The applicator sponge is very nice and I have been using it for a while, it is really soft and spreads and blends the product very well

My perfect shade match for the summer time compact would be NC42 and the winter time would be a NC40. The NC40 has more cool undertones and the NC42 has more warm undertones in it. The NC42 gives the appearance of a sunkissed skin thus making it a perfect shade match for me during summer.

I’d think this foundation will not suit people with dry skin too well as matte finishes tend to exaggerates lines and dry patches but there is nothing that a little bit of moisturizer cant fix.

Overall Verdict: Best ever Matte Pressed Powder. This is literally the second time I have purchased it and I am already hitting the pan with the NC42 again. I have been using it for 2 years straight and wouldn’t mind some more. Highly recommended and a total MUST BUY in my opinion.
