Engage in moderate exercise Studies have shown that regular moderate exercise can boost your immunity. To exercise you don’t need to step out of your house and put your self at risk, rather you can exercise at home. There are many YouTube tutorials and online classes for Yoga, Zumba or even fun dance sessions. You can also practice a full-body workout at home or do some floor exercises. The key is to aim for at least 150minutes of moderate exercises per week.
Manage your stress levels
Between work from and work at home everyone’s stress levels have gone through the roof. However, to keep your immune system strong you need to manage your stress levels and anxiety. To manage your stress levels you need not add an extra chore to your to-do list. I usually like to manage my stress by practising just 7mins of meditation in the evening before having some herbal tea. You can lower your stress levels by Yoga, exercising or even journaling. Do whatever you think is the best fit for you.
Make changes in your meal
The most important factor to boost your immunity is your diet. Making small changes in your diet is not only going to help you now but it will also help you in the long run. One of the best thing that you can do for your body is to incorporate superfoods in your daily diet such as leafy vegetables, berries, nuts, whole grains, legumes, tomatoes & cruciferous vegetables. Start by switching your cooking oil, cook with Olive oil as it has high anti-inflammatory properties and helps reduce the risk of chronic heart diseases and diabetes. Omega 3 fatty acids are a rich source of protein that you can incorporate by including fish your in your diet. You can also improve your digestive health by including probiotics in your meal with foods like yoghurt, kefir, buttermilk etc.
Sleep well
As per research, those adults who slept less than 6hours each night were more likely to catch a cold than the ones who slept for more than 6hours. Getting an adequate amount of sleep is one of the most overlooked factors when it comes to a healthy lifestyle. Adults should aim to get at least 7hours of sleep while teens should aim for at least 8-10 hours and infants or children should get up to 14hours.
